Dr. Abi

Senior Strategic Grant Consultant

Dr. Abi is a multi-disciplinary professional with over 30 years of experience spanning mechanical and aerospace engineering, medicine, and healthcare consulting. He holds an MD from Tufts University School of Medicine and a PhD/MS in Mechanical Engineering from California Institute of Technology (Caltech). Additionally, he also holds an MBA in Healthcare Management and a BTech (Hons.) in Mechanical Engineering. In his current role, Dr. Abi brings an interdisciplinary perspective to funding strategy, proposal development, and commercialization planning by partnering with innovative small businesses to secure non-dilutive funding and advance breakthrough technologies. His career also includes early-stage work as a Principal Investigator on SBIR projects supporting advanced aerospace technologies.

He contributed to NASA-related turbomachinery research and led funded research with the NSF and USAF. He has additionally held roles in teaching at Harvard University, software engineering across several technology firms, and academic editing for peer-reviewed journals in medicine and healthcare management. Dr. Abi is a recipient of multiple academic honors and brings both intellectual rigor and a genuine commitment to advancing technology and science.

He has also served as an external doctoral committee member at Lesley University, advising research on illness and stress management. His background across academia, engineering, and healthcare enables him to translate complex innovations into clear, fundable strategies, helping clients move efficiently from concept to award.
