What Is AMPt?

AMPt aims to build immune-endocrine models that predict a woman's risk of autoimmune onset or flare accurately enough to design and deliver effective treatment.

What Problem Is Wellcome Leap Trying to Solve?

Rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis and lupus affect nearly 20 million women globally, and hormone transitions such as pregnancy and menopause change disease risk. There is no routine way to forecast those changes.

Thrust Areas: What AMPt Is Looking For

  • Measure and model: A dynamic immune-endocrine model that forecasts flare and new-onset disease with at least 80% sensitivity and specificity, at least 4 weeks ahead
  • Predict: A validated biomarker panel that reads a woman's immune-endocrine state from a routine blood draw
  • Intervene: Interventions dosed and timed to hormone transitions

Eligibility

Performers from universities and research institutions, and small, medium and large companies.

How to Apply

  • Download: the abstract guidelines and template from the program page
  • Submit a 7-page abstract: between November 25 and December 2, 2026, 11:59 PM ET
  • If invited, submit a 25-page full proposal: covering technical approach, milestones, costs and key personnel, by January 21, 2027, 11:59 PM ET
  • Questions: ampt@wellcomeleap.org

What Happens After You Submit?

  • Abstract review: Selected teams are invited to submit full proposals
  • January 14 to 21, 2027: Full proposal portal open

Is This Opportunity a Good Fit for Your Company?

Good fit for teams building immune or hormone models, blood-based biomarker panels, diagnostics or therapies for autoimmune disease in women. Poor fit if your work doesn't touch pregnancy or menopause transitions.
